For many years, Hollywood stylist and native Angeleno Simone Harouche, whose client list includes Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Jennifer Lopez, amassed a stunning collection of antique textiles and clothing, spanning from 19th century dowry textiles to 1970’s Thea Porter kaftans. While the textiles often served as inspiration for her styling work, it wasn’t until she created a handbag for herself by piecing together a few of the fabrics that she understood the true potential of her collection.

What started with a one-off creation quickly evolved into the Simone Camille collection of one-of-a-kind handbags expertly fashioned from vintage textiles. “I collect fabric, antique tribal coins and beaded tassels from all around the globe. Once I have all these beautiful components around me, I begin placing fabrics together that complement each other and create a theme or story within each bag. They are then patchwork sewn by hand in Los Angeles.” Simone explains.
