The von Bueren family is the engine behind Lotus Arts de Vivre, a Thai business that creates a vast array of rare and exquisitely beautiful objects from jewelry to home accessories. Lotus Arts de Vivre owes much to the traditions of Thai and Asian craftsmen whose precious artistry can become lost in contemporary industrial societies.
What is Luxury?
Luxury is a good life without effort.
Luxury is for me and for my family. It has little to do with others, and it has nothing to do with showing off. I can be addicted to a fine cashmere blanket, to a soft cotton shirt, to a wonderful wool shawl all the better if the shawl is over 100 years old, of twill tapestry, and uniquely one of its kind.
Often luxury items are old because the craftsmen had the dedication and patience to make great items which are difficult to copy mechanically.Luxury is often simplicity. Luxury is a great garden with it’s scent of fresh earth after rain. Luxury is time out to appreciate and to be sensitive to one’s surroundings, to be able to absorb the unusual and to enjoy it.Luxury is to sit down with friends and have a meal and a glass of wine (or two) , to laugh a lot and to see my grandchildren playing. Luxury is to be healthy.
