The controversial movement of postmodernism is the perfect subject for an exhibition, and, this Fall, London’s historic Victoria and Albert Museum presents a thrilling survey of the multifaceted movement, seen through its architecture, design, music, dance and commodity culture, from 1970-1990. Eschewing the clarity and simplicity of modernism, in favor of contradiction and complexity, postmodernism is a heady mix of the theatrical and theoretical. Highlights of this exhibition include work by Jeff Koons, graphic designer Peter Saville and Italian archtiect and designer Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis Group. This energizing exhibition is on until January 15 2012.
