Carole Midy, the creator behind jewelry brand Pietra Dura, firmly believes each person has many callings in life. “We all have many lives and certainly we all have many strings to our bow and hidden talents that can be utilized” she remarks. This is definitely true of Carole, who after forging a highly successful career as a lawyer, advising auction houses among other clients, decided to pursue her passion for jewelry and launched Pietra Dura in 2007.
The concept behind the collection was to create the kinds of objects that she herself was searching for: Unique, rare, timeless jewels handcrafted and only available in limited edition. From the Buddhism of India to the plains of Africa, the refined aesthetic of the Thirties to contemporary urban culture, Carole Midy draws inspiration from the diverse richness of the world we live in.
