Adam Alexander Bach and his wife Rikke Overgaard founded their accessories brand Mismo in Denmark in 2000. Driven by a passion for timeless and traditional craftsmanship, the backbone of each Mismo design is the materials - the natural look and feel of the leather, the tactility of the cotton canvas and the way the materials become even more beautiful over time.
What is luxury?
Luxury is defined by longevity. A luxury product will stand the test of time in terms of durability and aesthetics.
What are three luxuries you allow yourself?
Firstly, we’ve allowed ourselves the luxury of working with something we have a passion for. We’re independent, innovating, creating, traveling and setting forth strategies for our own line of work. Yes, there are privations and financial insecurity in the course of time it takes to establish a brand, but the freedom, passion and flexibility we have in our working life are of much more value to me.
Secondly, we’ve had two children over the last three years. In the midst of a hectic work life establishing Mismo, we also wanted to have children. Stressful, yes. On the verge of self-detonation at times, yes. Biggest joy in life, yes!
Finally, I try to go to the stadium at least once a month to watch a football match and support my team here in Denmark. Football is uniting, passionate and gives you the chance to scream out your joy and frustrations like nothing else. In a hectic everyday life, two hours spent at the stadium is luxury for me....
