HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR AESHETIC?

MR: My prints are inspired by 1930s Paris, the Deco and the African influence. I lived in Paris for 14 years in St. Germain, which was a hot bed for the Art Deco movement, and it has seeped in to my subconscious. It’s where Matisse bought his first African mask and presented it to Picasso, which led Picasso to doing a number of African inspired sculptures and paintings.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

MR: I’m more expressive in my creative work than in my dress. My personal style is whatever’s clean. And pressed. I am a shopper with purpose. I’m not an idling grazer. I only like shopping if I have something in mind that I need to get. I go and I find it. It happens to a lot of fashion people in fashion. If you’re surrounded by it all day you hate to shop.
