“Craft is the most important ingredient of Lotus Arts de Vivre. It is the mother’s milk we feed on and the longer we exist, the more we rely on craft, and on maintaining craft to do the opposite of what others do” explains Rolf von Bueren, patriarch of the family that has created this Thai brand, creators of rare and exquisite objects, including intricate jewelry, home décor, cutlery, and travel accessories.

Each Lotus Arts de Vivre design is born out of the raw material. The house excels at fashioning extravagantly beautiful objects out of natural materials such as palm sticks, tropical wood,

horn, precious stones and metals, and animal skins. “Whenever we see something which inspires a design, we buy it and the fertilization process has been done, “ says Rolf von Bueren.

Lotus Arts de Vivre creates an astonishing variety of designs, and each object has its own individual manufacturing process. Take, for example, a pair of Elephant Cufflinks made of blackened silver with a diamond and ruby headdress. Four artisans work together for over a month to complete them. Firstly, a wax mold of the elephant head and body are created. This is then cast into silver, and subsequently polished.
