Vintage collectors and fashion folk will instantly recognize the name Gripoix. Since 1869, this French atelier has been creating couture jewelry for most fashion houses from Chanel to Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Dior, Givenchy, Balmain, Marc Jacobs and many others. The house signature is the “pâte de verre”, a glass casting method that allows for precise placement of color.

In 2006, Marie Keslassy acquired Gripoix with the objective of reviving the house and creating a Gripoix brand in its own right. Born in Morocco but a de facto Parisian

Marie had discovered Gripoix in the auction houses of Paris while putting together a collection for her vintage clothing store on rue Clément Marot. The store was a short-lived experiment, but her love for Gripoix was lasting.

“I was immediately attracted to the jewelry’s delicacy, its femininity, and jumped at the challenge to revive the Maison. It was an extraordinary opportunity to breathe new life into Gripoix, a house with so much potential, and finally bring it out of the shadows” Marie Keslassy recalls.
