“This collection is a homage to my roots,” says designer Emi Jorge about her range of striking minaudières. Characterized by fluid shapes, the combination of rich textures and surfaces and a sophisticated use of color, Emi Jorge’s unique clutches are deeply inspired by the natural wonders of her native Philippines. Traveling around the archipelago with her children and husband, her designs are constantly energized by the people and places she experiences.

For about 14 years, Emi’s creative energies were focused on designing bespoke shoes. “After so many years designing and crafting shoes,” she says, “I felt an urge to work with a fresh, clean palette. I thought it would be challenging to plunge into unfamiliar territory.” Emi’s collection of minaudières was launched in New York in 2010.

Emi describes her design process as coming from “a raw imagination.
