Lopez Mejia’s creations harness the power of words, and her symbolic pieces, inscribed with messages like “Faith”, “Provoke” and “Courage”, have set a trend in making the written word an element of design in jewelry. Designs can be personalized with inscriptions chosen by the client to reflect their individual sensibilities and thoughtfulness.

Lopez Mejia’s chunky gold pieces are cast from 18k gold in her New York atelier, where they are also hand inscribed one letter at a time. When working with gemstones, she collaborates with the Gem Palace in Jaipur, as she explains: “I am blessed to cut my Gems with Munnu Kasliwald of The Gem Palace in Jaipur. The Kasliwald Family has been renowned for cutting gems for the Maharajas and great treasures of the world since the mid 19th century.” Each piece can take from three to five days from start to finish.
